Jul 27, 2012 · I’m running a very simple test for the new Chrome for iPad using asp.net. I have 2 TextBox server controls on a page. The first has it’s AutoPostBack set to True.
It does not work correctly when im using an ipad and chrome. It redirects to a blank page and shows the name of my aspx page. Ipad and safari is fine. Desktop and Chrome is fine. If i go directly to a zip file it downloads correctly on the ipad and chrome but not if the webpage creates the zip file on the fly. Below is the code im using.

While using ASP.NET menu control at that time, Safari as well as Chrome did not render that control properly. That’s the reason why mouse over does not work properly in Chrome and Safari with ASP.NET menu control as shown in the below images.

Oct 12, 2011 · Autocomplete isn’t an HTML standard attribute until HTML 5. It was an IE addition that other browsers copied to some degree. Here is a good thread detailing some of the issues with the autocomplete to work cross-browser.

Well this is basically because the User Agent string that Chrome is sending is not recognised by your website and by default, Asp.Net 4.0 is set to downgrade the browser to the lowest it knows about so assumes you cannot support cookies – this is why you see the cookie id in the url.
Jan 03, 2012 · DotNetSeeker, No that totally isn’t the case. If it had been then the users are locked in to use «true». I think it has something to do with IIS / 4.0 because I tried the same code on Vista in a brand new 4.0 application and it worked fined with FF.
