Blizzard has responded to various support tickets open with users banned for using Wine to play D3 and have made it clear they’re not going to unban anyone. Thank you for contacting us. An additional review of the action taken against the Diablo III account on …
I’ve played D3 (and WoW) over wine for the past 2-3 years, not banned/warned or anything at all, never had a problem. I still play D3 on WINE while at work every day for a couple of hours 😉 (and it is playable on INTEL HD). Using Ubuntu, haven’t really tried over any other distro since I use Ubuntu for my desktop (and RH/CentOS for my servers).
Jul 02, 2012 · I’m a WIne user. I’ve played StarCraft II for a year now on Ubuntu and it’s worked great. I’m actually just now setting up Diablo III with the bleeding-edge Wine 1.5.6 (performance is now better than the OS X ports, instead of attacking Wine they should just use it) and if I get banned I’m not going to be all «oh well» like those guys.

I have no idea if this accusation of Linux users being banned for using WINE with Diablo 3 is true or not, or if we have all the facts yet or not, but one thing seems quite clear to me – if your account is banned, you can’t play the game AT ALL – not even single-player, since D3’s single player still has to be played via their servers.
Listen up Linux users, if you’re using Linux plus Wine you can allegedly be banned from Diablo III and you won’t be getting any refunds back at all. If you live in the United States you’re screwed
Jul 03, 2012 · The software bug thing is certainly true, but that doesn’t warrent the thread or the mass rage over 2-3 people that claim to have been banned for using WINE to run D3 without people applying a bit of common sense to the issue.
Linux users are claiming to have been unfairly banned for using Windows emulator WINE to run the game. Uproar! Outrage! But wait, Blizzard’s response is a firm hands-on-hips denial and an
A number of Linux users banned from Diablo 3 have spoken out on Blizzard’s forum and to Polygon about how they were wrongly accused of cheating in the game.
