Dec 11, 2017 · For anyone planning to use the IE 800 S on the move, it is a disappointing return for what is a hefty wedge of money. Verdict. So, while we wouldn’t be so severe as Professor Yaffle, it is difficult for us to be enthusiastic about the Sennheiser IE 800 S’s.
A few years after Sennheiser’s best attempt at an in-ear headphone, we now have an update. The IE 800 S is a tweaked version of the earphone we adored.
Sleek and compact, the IE 800 S is a giant where it really matters: in reproducing music. Featuring a refined version of our proprietary Extra Wide Band (XWB) drivers, it redefines the benchmark for crisp and clear in-ear sound performance.
The Sennheiser IE 800 S box comes wrapped in an outer cardboard sleeve. The sleeve is predominantly black, with a large image of the IEM on the front. On the rear of the box, the usual features and extra marketing speak are strangely absent, leaving it mostly bare. Underneath the outer sleeve is a dark grey box that has a nicely textured surface.
