Cold War Kids have made a name for themselves crafting the kind of faceless, nondescript brand of blues- and soul-injected indie rock that is working well for many of their bettors.
Ideally, this would be the part of the review with the heartwarming fairy tale story of Cold War Kids’ redemption. Unfortunately, Mine is Yours fails to fit the bill.

ya mine is yours starts off with all the promise of any cold wars kids lp until you reach the fourth song on the album and it sinks into obscurity. the swing is gone and catchy yes but also very deep lyrics seem shallow and generally lacking.
Not that there wasn’t something charming about it all on Robbers & Cowards or Loyalty to Loyalty, but Mine Is Yours largely succeeds on keeping the Kids’ songwriting strengths on track. That songwriting, of course, is what separates Cold War Kids from your Neon Trees or your Saving Abel.

Wild tangents of emotional angst are no longer allowed, and the Cold War kids are obviously on a bit of a production leash. Luckily, it’s a leash and not a noose like many are claiming. There is a bit of a Kings’ of Leon sound, there is a bit of chick music vibe, and there is parts that are modest mouse ish.
Mine Is Yours is the third studio album by American indie rock band Cold War Kids. It was released on January 25, 2011 by Downtown Records . Following the releases of Loyalty to Loyalty (2008) and Behave Yourself (2010), the band sought to work on new material that spanned the course of three months in Nashville and California after two years of touring.

Cold War Kids released their fourth album to low expectations following a rather lacklustre offering in the form of 2011’s ‘Mine Is Yours’. The Californian band were expected to take the music world by storm following their début release, however things waned as the years went on.
Cold War Kids is an American indie rock band from Long Beach, California. Band members are Nathan Willett (vocals, piano, guitar), Matt Maust (bass guitar), David Quon (guitar, backing vocals), Matthew Schwartz (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar, percussion), and Joe Plummer (drums, percussion).
