There’s nothing advantageous about holding a weapon sideways and some weapons are prone to jamming if you do so. The only reason to hold the weapon sideways is if it gives you the optimal shooting angle with a minimized profile. It’s something you’d generally only do when working with obstructions/cover.

By holding the gun sideways, it results in the mechanisms fighting against gravity to eject the casing. This all results in a failure to eject. Since they typically hold the pistol in one hand, it actually makes the gun harder to shoot because they can’t properly manage the recoil.

Holding the handgun sideways, assuming you still use the iron sights to aim it, would mean it will travel «to» the sights slightly, but there is no rise to the round. Only drop due to gravity and a constant left/right angle depending on which side the sights are on when held sideways.

Only a small percentage would actually shoot point blank like all people not just black, so holding it this way is just an act. Firing at a distance sideways is imposible. If they are doing this it is a wonder that they hit anything at all.
